Matthew launches Attitude is Everything report

On Thursday 8th December, Matthew launched Attitude is Everything’s State of Access Report in the House of Commons.

Attitude is Everything is a charity working to improve access to music venues for deaf and disabled people. The State of Access Report is the first comprehensive research into access in the UK music industry and follows two years of research into over a hundred venues.

Matthew is a patron of Attitude is Everything, and was delighted to host and speak at the launch of the report. Afterwards, he commented:

I was delighted to have the chance to launch this report. Access is Everything is a charity very close to my heart, and their work is invaluable both for deaf and disabled people and for their friends and families. This report is a comprehensive study of access at music venues across the country. I hope it will make the music events that so many of us take for granted more accessible to everyone.

Suzanne, CEO of Attitude is Everything (pictured with Matthew above) also commented after the event:

The launch was extremely well-attended with key figures from the music industry, Local Authorities and Licensing Authorities.  Guests signed our Charter of Best Practice, our systematic standard that music venues can follow when making access improvements.  20 guests that were present pledged to join a coalition led by Attitude is Everything to follow Scotland’s example and make access for disabled people a condition of licence and we expect more to join in January 2012.  The Board of Trustees and staff at Attitude is Everything would like to thank Matthew Hancock MP, who is our Patron, for hosting this landmark event and for his continuing support for our charity.
