Matthew opens new buildings for Samuel Ward Academy
On Friday 25th November Matthew opened a new building at Samuel Ward for years 7 and 8. The opening ceremony was attended by pupils, staff and Governors, and the guests enjoyed the music of the school choir and canapés made by students themselves. Matthew unveiled a commemorative plaque and formally cut the ribbon at the entrance to the building.
Matthew commented:
“I was delighted to open this new building at Samuel Ward. The facilities are fantastic, and will benefit years 7 and 8 enormously. It was a real celebration, with the choir singing and delicious canapés made by pupils at the school. Samuel Ward Academy is going from strength to strength under the excellent leadership of Howard Lay and his team, and this new building will open up new opportunities that I know they will make the most of.”
